Mongolia Visa for UAE Residents

If you are a citizen of the UAE, you do not need a visa to travel and you can stay in Mongolia for 30 days. However, the residents who do not hold a UAE passport must apply for a visa to travel to Mongolia. The visa requirements for the non-nationals of UAE depend upon the country passport they are holding. 

2024 updates on the visa of Mongolia state that the UAE and Mongolian governments signed a mutual understanding document in which they allowed UAE citizens to travel without a visa. The citizens need a few documents, including the tickets, a small amount in the bank account and reserved accommodation. On the other hand, the residents of the UAE need a visa along with some documents which are explained below. 

Types of Visa 

  • Tour Visa
  • Business Visa 
  • Work Visa 

1. Tour Visa 

The visa on the top of the list is the tour visa is available within 3 to 10 working days depending upon which country passport you hold. If you apply for the e-visa, you need to wait for 3 days; on the other hand, if it is not an electronic visa program then you need to wait for 10 days. In the tour visa program, a tourist is not allowed to engage in other activities, such as business meetings, or serving as an employee and studying in an institute of Mongolia. 

Requirements of Mongolia Tour Visa for UAE Residents 

  • Valid Passport: One of the most significant requirements of a Mongolia tour visa is a passport that should be valid for a further 6 months. 
  • UAE Residence: An applicant must provide the documents of the UAE residence visa and ensure that the visa should be valid for 3 months at least. 
  • Photographs: An applicant is required to provide 2 images of passport size which should have a two-coloured background and the images must not be older than 3 months. 
  • Proof of Travel: An applicant must provide the details of his travel by showing his tickets and informing about the departure and arrival date. 
  • Proof of Accommodation: An applicant must provide the details of his accommodation by informing the embassy about the number of hotels in which he will stay, the names of hotels as well as the number of his apartment.
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds: An applicant is required to provide the details of the funds he possesses to sponsor his trip by showing the bank statement for the past few months. 
  • Visa Application: The last requirement is to apply for a visa and hold the receipt of paid dues. 

Application Process 

Step 1: Visit the embassy of Mongolia in UAE or if you are eligible for an e-visa then go to the Mongolia e-visa portal. 

Step 2:  Fill out the application form and attach all the documents with it. 

Step 3: Review the application form and then submit it. 

Step 4: Pay the visa application fee which is 185 AED to 200 AED. 

Step 5: Appear in the interview and if you pass it, collect the Mongolia tour visa. 

2. Business Visa 

Another type of visa is the business visa of Mongolia which allows you to stay for 30 days. The business visa is designed for people who are interested in engaging in business activities, such as meetings and business conferences. However, it does not allow you to initiate a new business in the land of Mongolia. 

Requirements of Mongolia Business Visa for UAE Residents

  • Valid Passport: A business person must hold a visa that is valid for 6 months further.  
  • UAE Residence: A business person must provide a UAE residence visa that is valid for 3 months. 
  • Photographs: A business person must provide 2 images of passport size which should be not older than 3 months. 
  • Proof of Travel: A business person must provide proof of travel by showing his tickets for departure and return as well as the name of the airline. 
  • Proof of Accommodation: A business person must give the details of the accommodation that he has reserved in Mongolia, such as the name of the hotel and the room number. 
  • Letter of Invitation: A business person must provide a copy of the letter of invitation he has received from a person in Mongolia to assure the embassy that the sole purpose of his visit is business activity.   
  • Cover Letter: If the business person is visiting on behalf of a company then he should provide a cover letter.
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds: A business person must give the details of the funds he has to manage his business trip to Mongolia. 
  • Visa Application: A business person must apply for a business visa by submitting an application and holding its receipt.  

Application Process 

Step 1: Carry all the documents to the embassy of Mongolia in UAE.

Step 2: Choose what type of visa is suitable for the activities you are planning to do in Mongolia. 

Step 3: Fill out an applicant form and attach all the documents that I have mentioned above. 

Step 4: Review the application twice before you submit it and then pay the submission fee which is 185 AED to 200 AED. 

Step 5: Appear in the interview and then collect your business visa. 

3. Work Visa 

A work visa is for people who are seeking the opportunity of employment and want to pursue their professional career in Mongolia. The purpose of the work visa is to allow people to work and earn money in Mongolia. The work visa is for a limited time, such as 1 to 2 years, but the extensions are available if one follows a legal process. Here are the requirements for a work visa:

  • Valid Passport: If an intended employee holds a passport that is valid for 6 months, he can get a Mongolian work visa.  
  • UAE Residence: An intended employee must provide the details of his UAE residence visa and ensure the visa expiry date does not fall in the next 3 months. 
  • Work Permit: An intended employee must hold a Mongolian work permit issued by the government of Mongolia. 
  • Employer Letter: An intended employee must attach a copy of the employer letter that contains the details of the job position he has secured, the duration of the job and the need to hire a person from UAE. 
  • Police Clearance: An intended employee must attach a copy of the police clearance record that states he has never been involved in crime and ensure that the police clearance is not older than 6 months. 
  • Employment Contract: An intended employee must provide the details of the contract he has signed with the employer and attach a copy of it with the work visa application. 
  • Photographs: An intended employee must provide 2 images of passport size which should not be older than 3 months. 
  • Proof of Travel: An intended employee must provide proof of travel by showing the tickets of departure from UAE and return from Mongolia. 
  • Proof of Accomodation: An intended employee must provide the details of the hotel in which he will stay after arrival or if the accommodation is arranged by the employer then he must inform the embassy about it. 
  • Registration Certificate: An intended employee must provide a copy of the employer’s registration in order to inform the embassy that the employer is legally working in Mongolia. 
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds: An intended employee must submit a bank statement of the past few months in order to assure the embassy that he holds sufficient funds to stay in Mongolia. 
  • Visa Application:  An intended employee must apply for a work visa and pay its dues. 

Application Process 

Step 1: The process of application will begin when the employer hires you and applies for the entry permit on your behalf. 

Step 2: After the entry permit, the employer will apply for a work permit on your behalf and get an NOC from the government of Mongolia. 

Step 3: When you receive all these documents, you need to visit the embassy of Mongolia in UAE to apply for a work visa. 

Step 4: Fill out the application form and attach all the documents with the application. 

Step 5: Submit the application and pay the work visa fee which is 477 AED. 

Step 6: Appear in the interview and if you pass it you will be able to get a Mongolian work visa. 

FAQ’s

The residents of UAE who do not hold an Emarti passport cannot travel to Mongolia without a visa. However, the citizens do not need a visa and they can stay for 30 days in Mongolia. 

It takes 2 to 10 working days depending upon the type of visa you are applying for.
